Welcome to KULTURKONTAKT AUSTRIA's new project website "Central and Eastern European Cultural Institutions" (cee-culture.info) !

This website is intended to introduce you to a new database project which was begun in March 2001 and since April 2002 has been providing a gratis and generally accessible online service. Since 1989 KKA has been working with the countries of Central, Eastern and South-eastern Europe in the field of artistic and cultural exchange and can look back on, as well as look forward to numerous successful co-operation projects with institutions and artists. These experiences encouraged us to develop an information service dealing with the cultural landscape (institutions like cultural associations, organizations, foundations, institutional projects, institutes, centers, networks, unions etc.) of the CSEE countries. Those doing research or otherwise generally interested should be provided with a comprehensive picture of the institutional interrelations in the rich, diverse and (from a cultural viewpoint) continually growing cultural landscape of this large region of Eastern Europe. But it should also help artists and cultural workers to find project partners and sources of funding and information in these countries.
Informative short descriptions and comments, precise search criteria, as well as an easily comprehensible range of possibilities to link the data, make cee-culture.info an efficient as well as dynamic guide through the CSEE cultural scene in the World Wide Web.

The first version of KULTURKONTAKT AUSTRIA's cultural database, which is now available, will enable you - via various search modes - to get to objective, precise information, - via the index of homepage addresses - to get access to the range of Internet offers these institutions have available and thereby to find a basis for continuing research.
