Short Description of the Institution: The British Council is the United Kingdom's international organisation for educational and cultural relations. Registered in England as a Charity. The British Council aim to show in Hungary the best of contemporary British arts, including traditional excellence when appropriate. They also encourage artistic and educational cooperation between Hungarian and British artists. The British Council promote all the main art forms: music, drama, dance, visual arts, design, literature, film and multimedia. The British groups or artists they support should be of high artistic standard with an established or emerging national reputation in Britain.
